Dear Families

At the risk of not overusing too many cliches – we are living in unique and unsettling times.

Much has transpired over the last few weeks, with everyone – children, families and staff impacted by COVID-19 in one way or another.  The infographic below, is a useful visual tool as to how we can choose to respond to this ongoing situation.

With school holidays on the doorstep, we will continue to communicate with you over the next few weeks leading into Term 2.

Here are some things worth checking in with and clarifying at this point in time.

Next Week – Monday 6th April to Thursday 9th April (Pupil Free Days)

  • School holidays commence for students.
  • During this week, staff will be on-site to set up learning programs for next term, see below.
  • Current OSHC services will remain open. Please visit here for details.

Preparing for Term 2

As advised by the Minister for Education, and following public health advice, all schools will remain open and are expected to operate in Term 2. However, the method for delivering learning programs for Term 2 will be vastly different from Term 1.

If not already done so, please check in with the most recent post re the Term 2 Learning Program and Parent Survey.

Thank you to those parents / caregivers who have already responded. To date, we have received just under 300 responses from families indicating their child/ren’s attendance at school for Term 2. If you haven’t already done so, please complete the survey and home technology questionnaire – to support our planning. There is a comment box to share your thoughts if needed. Current responses / information tell us that approximately ⅔ of our students will be learning at home and ⅓ at school. This of course may change with more responses and any changes over the next 3 weeks.

Over the next 4 days, teaching and support staff will be at school planning for the Term 2 learning program, utilising departmental advice and guidelines. We remind families, regardless of whether students will be ‘learning at home’ or ‘learning at school’, the same mode of learning will be in place to support the continuity of teaching and learning.

I wish all students and families all the very best for the school holidays. Stay safe and take care.

Stay tuned for further updates.

Regards, Paul
